Brewing The Raspberry Pink Lemonade

Welcome back all. In this series of video's I am making one of Larry's "Black Dog Saloon" Lentz's famous recipes for Lemonade Hooch. I am going to switch it up just a tad by adding a extra pound of honey and using Pink Lemonade mix instead of regular Lemonade mix.

I wasn't able to make this into a mini movie like I've done before. So here are the clips as it happened. I'm sure everyone will still get a good laugh out of it.

In Part 2 I'll be adding the 2 lbs Corn Sugar, 3 lbs Honey, and 2 lbs Golden DME to the 1 gallon of water I have heating up to over 175 degrees.

In Part 3 I'm just telling you all where I'm at in the whole process.

I decided to do a yeast starter .

As soon as I figure how to edit this next clip I'll post it. It seems to be too larger to down load right now.

Mead Making Fun

Not sure if this will load completely yet or not. It's like a small movie of a Mead we did a few weeks back. My buddy Mark was up and helped out with the brew.
I'm sure you will get a laugh out of this one.

Well it looks like it loaded afterall. I hope you all enjoyed that video. We'll see you next time...

Welp here is a update on the Mead Project.

Enjoy

If anyone has any idea on what might have went wrong in this process please leave me a comment and suggestions. I'm going to try and add some more yeast to the fermenter and see if that helps. I'll update again when I do that.

Carbonate the Screaming Viking

You'll all have to bare with me until I figure this whole blog thing out. My posts are going to seem a little out of order. But it's all in fun so what the heck...
Here I am carbonating the The Screaming Viking and possibly coming up with a new name in the mean time....

Now it's time to see just what this tastes like. I'm just hopeing it doesn't taste like poop....

Looks like it all worked out and it tastes pretty good. It's been about 2 weeks since this one was kegged and it has just gotten better and better. I'm thinking that I might just like this All Grain Brewing!!!!

Screaming Viking Continued

Now that the Screaming Viking has made it through all the fermentation it's time to put it into the keg.

Now that we transferred the brew from the secondary into the keg it's time to carbonate. I do this by jacking the pressure up to 30 psi and rolling the keg around on the floor to mix the CO2 in with the beer in the keg.

Now that we have the Screaming Viking in the keg and it's in the carbonation process we can do a taste test to see how the beer is going to taste. Let cross our fingers and hope that it doesn't taste like poop.

My First Attempt at All Grain Brewing

This is sort of a video blog so to speak of my first attempt at home brewing an All Grain. This All Grain is called Screaming Viking Ale and I got the recipe off of Tastybrew.com. It is along the lines of a Blonde Ale with a bit of a hop to it.

I cut a large portion of that clip down because I tend to ramble at times. These next clips are as I was going through the brewing process and watching football at the same time. I started to do sort of a instructional version but as I was going through these I realized that I do not know near enough to tell anyone how to do this. So I would rather tell you all what I did wrong and then maybe someone can learn from my mistakes.

So now I have all my wort collected from the mash tun and I'm starting the brewing process. Yes I'm doing this inside my basement, but I do have the door open so any fumes that might be present are venting out the door.

The brew is up to the boil now and the flavoring hops are added. Make sure you pay attention here because it will boil over and make a mess if your not careful.

Time to add the last of the hops and finish out the boil.

Now that the boil is finished it's time to cool the wort down with the wort chiller I made.

Now that the wort is chilled down now I can transfer it over into the Primary Fermenting Bucket.

The wort has been put in the Primary and the Yeast has been added. The lid is snapped on and the blow off tube is hooked up. The Primary now sits covered up for 7 days and then is transferred into a Secondary Fermenter. The Secondary allows the beer to clear out by allowing what ever yeast and fermentables to just fall to the bottom of the container. I will let it sit in the Secodary for 2 weeks at which time I'll transfer over to the keg. When I get to that stage I'll video that and post.
